Running for My Life

Running the Boston Marathon on my 40th birthday

I love running.  Running makes me happy, makes me feel alive, gets me outside, keeps me healthy, introduces me to new friends, and is better than therapy.

Unfortunately I’ve spent the past 16 months in a battle war with Plantar Fasciitis, coupled with an injury from an idiotic attempt at water skiing.   What I’ve learned is that I will never water ski again, and hopefully the Plantar Fasciitis will soon be in the rear-view mirror.  After a year without running, I started up again in late October.  I’m slowly starting to increase the mileage and speed.  Right now the goal is simply to build some speed and distance, but hopefully soon I can start working toward a summer or fall half-marathon and possibly a full marathon at some point down the road… Right now, I’m just thrilled to be back on the trails.
